Choose Your Sportive Distance

The Cyclosportive des Vins du Valais is a great sportive to choose if you are looking for a group cycling holiday with cyclists of different levels of fitness and experience as there are four distances to choose from ranging from 129km, 96km, 67km or 39km.

Cyclosportive des Vins du Valais | Parcours

Grand Parcours 129km

Both the 129km course and the 96km course include the stunning feature climb through the steeply terraced vineyards of the Valais wine region that the sportive is named after.

The first part of the course is pan flat and the large and well marshalled peloton means you will probably cover the opening section at an average speed in excess of 40km/h as you benefit from the wind protection offered by the 1,000 strong peloton. As the course starts climbing through the vineyards the pace change quickly separates the peloton into groups climbing at a similar pace.

Cyclosportive des Vins du Valais | Profile

The most difficult of the three timed climbs on the 129km Grand Parcours is the climb through the terroir of the Molignon vineyards, you’ll climb over 700m in 14km before plunging back down into the Rhône valley.

Combining the opportunity to go fast on the flat then experience climbing through the stunning terraces in the Valais vineyards makes this a must do sportive!
